I am happier than I can express at the news my shop will be reopening next week, it has been a wild and too long time to be closed, and it was really all because of poor governance and my patience wore thin a long time ago. Besides this life changing inconvenience, I have never been personally abjectly affected by my government. I have never been forcibly removed from my home, taken at gunpoint to a school, and been neglected to death, or barely survived, or been the target of apartheid. CFS was never a big threat to my household, though we met their criteria for removal. I have never had generations of my potential maligned and erased, or my status as a person decided by bureaucrats, or watched decade after decade as yet more visitors take and take and extract parts of my homeland and with it, women and femmes who are never heard from again. Bad governance is annoying; Canada has a legacy of evil governance and I am grateful for the lives of my friends and family who’s relatives survived the very worst of that evil. And it is ongoing. If you are of settler heritage, Do not be afraid to know and feel the horror of all these dead children, let it tear you apart and then put you to work. 🧡 (face picture for the algorithm)

Did you know that in 1974 Brian Eno travelled to the future and watched me bake and decorate this cake with the twin desires of making a mild statement against minimalism and a severe dopamine deficit and was inspired to go back to 1974 and write his classic hit “dead finks don’t talk” about my experience? It’s true. ♣️ Yesterday the province announced that I will be allowed to reopen my shop on the 12th of April and while an end to the now 8 months of the past 12 having it closed sounds very groovy, I also don’t put much stock in it so maybe I will see you soon and maybe I won’t, I can’t tell the future and for SURE the government goons can’t either. Thanks @camillawynne for trying to teach me how to bake a cake, I have a long way to go. #expressivelayercakes
